Location Address: Lee Ave, Yonkers, New York Residents of Lee Avenue in Yonkers, New York claim their homes are frequently visited by violent, aggressive spirits who torment their inhabitants. Reports of paranormal activity range from encountering malevolent spirits, to hearing disembodied voices, to having objects thrown across the room by an unseen entity. Former residents have also reported feeling as if they were being possessed by a demonic entity, and several attempts to exorcise the houses have been attempted over the years. Many believe the buildings on Lee Avenue were built over an ancient Native American burial ground, and in June of 2012 a book was published by a former Lee Avenue resident about the allegedly haunted location, called The Lee Avenue Haunting. #2 - Oakland Cemetery

Location Address: 2 Saw Mill River Road, Yonkers, New York Oakland Cemetery in Yonkers, New York was established in 1783 as a burial ground for American soldiers who were killed in the American Revolutionary War. It was later used to bury Civil War soldiers in the late 1800's, but over the years fell into a state of disrepair. Visitors report encountering the spirits of three ghostly women who appear to protect the cemetery from vandalism, though their identities are unknown. #3 - Public School No. 13

Location Address: 195 McLean Ave, Yonkers, New York Students at Public School No. 13 in Yonkers, New York (sometimes referred to simply as "P.S. 13") report encountering the spirit of a young girl in a white dress, whose apparition quickly vanishes when approached. Location Address: 229 Washington Street, Watertown, New York Built in 1903, Flower Memorial Library in Watertown, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman named Emma Flower, whose apparition is often seen by visitors. Employees who enter certain areas of the library also report feeling a strange presence, as if being watched by an unseen entity. Flower Memorial Library was added to the National Register of Historic Places in January of 1980. #2 - Jefferson County Historical Society & Museum

Location Address: 228 Washington Street, Watertown, New York Also known as the Paddock Mansion, the Jefferson County Historical Society in Watertown, New York was constructed in 1876 by Edwin and Olive Paddock. It is said to be haunted by the spirit of Mrs. Paddock, whose apparition is seen by visitors wearing a green dress. Employees also report experiencing paranormal activity such as cold spots, disembodied voices, footsteps, and feelings of being watched by an unseen entity. #3 - Thompson Park

Location Address: Thompson Boulevard, Watertown, New York Constructed in the 1920's, Thompson Park in Watertown, New York is often referred to as "Watertown's Area 51" due to the alleged presence of a supernatural vortex that results in strange paranormal activity. Over the years, locals began to tell stories claiming the vortex has the ability to send objects and people back in time. In some stories, visitors claim to be walking in one part of the park, only to suddenly appear in another, and in other stories, people report experiencing an unexplained loss of time, as well as feelings of confusion or amnesia that subsides after a short while. Thompson Park hosts annual events celebrating its mysterious nature, which draws hundreds of paranormal investigators, Ufologists, and folklore enthusiasts from surrounding areas.

Location Address: 1001 Broad Street, Utica, New York Investigators at the old General Electric building on Broad Street in Utica, New York report witnessing shadow figures and apparitions, as well as experiencing other unexplained paranormal phenomena, such as cold spots and disembodied footsteps. Although many claim to witness spirits at this location, the reason for their presence is unknown. #2 - St. Agnes Cemetery of Utica

Location Address: 601 Arthur Street, Utica, New York Saint Agnes Cemetery was established in 1851, and is the burial location of many of Utica's original founders and settlers. It is said to be haunted by the spirit of an unidentified woman, whose apparitions is often accompanied by an infant child. In 1909, three young children were lured to the back of the cemetery and shot to death. One child survived the shooting, but the other two children are believed to haunt the cemetery where they died. Visitors at Saint Agnes Cemetery also report feeling unexplained cold spots, as well as feeling the presence of an unseen entity. #3 - The Stanley Theater

It's also said that during performances, employees leave one seat empty for the spirits who allegedly still attend performances. The Stanley Theater first opened in September of 1928, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in August, 1976. #4 - Utica Psychiatric Center

Location Address: 1213 Court Street, Utica, New York Also known as Utica State Hospital, the Utica Psychiatric Center in Utica, New York was opened in January of 1843 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It is renowned as being the first state-run facility for mentally ill patients, as well as one of the first of its kind in the United States. It was shut down in 1977, and is said to be haunted by the spirits of former mental patients who were abused and subjected to inhumane medical procedures such as lobotomies and electroshock therapy. Urban explorers and others visiting the abandoned hospital report witnessing apparitions, as well as hearing disembodied voices, whispers, and screams. Others report feeling sudden cold spots, or feeling the presence of an unseen entity, and paranormal investigators often claim to experience issues with electronic devices, such as batteries draining unexpectedly. One popular urban legend claims that a series of underground tunnels exists beneath the asylum, where patients were allegedly brought to be tortured or left in solitary confinement.

Formerly the site of the old Troy Hospital, West Hall is said to be haunted by the spirit of a former psychiatric nurse named Betsy, who was killed in a fire while trying to rescue her patients. In another variation of the story, Betsy was a sinister woman who went insane before killing several patients and herself. Her spirit is said to wander the hallways of West Hall, and is often seen and heard playing the piano late at night. Location Address: Lincoln Center Campus, Rose Hill Campus & Westchester Campus, The Bronx, New York
Fordham University in The Bronx, New York was founded in 1841 by the Catholic Diosces Of New York, and is renowned for being the oldest university in the northeastern United States. Students report witnessing apparitions and experiencing other unexplained paranormal activity in the Administration Office, Collins Auditorium, Finlay Hall, Hughes Hall, Keating Hall, Martyr's Court, and O'Hare Hall. There are believed to be dozens of different spirits that haunt the campus, which was constructed over the site of an old hospital. A series of underground tunnels were once used to connect different areas of the hospital, and students visiting these underground areas report feeling the presence of an unseen entity, as well as feelings of extreme fear or nausea. Keating Hall is said to be the most active location on campus due to the fact that it was allegedly built over the hospital's morgue. Students at Keating Hall report witnessing unidentified apparitions and shadow figures, especially in the basement area, and many have also claimed to witness chairs and other objects being thrown around by an unseen entity. It is said to be haunted by the spirits of 52 workers who were killed in July of 1918 when the plant unexpectedly caught fire, causing thousands of pounds of TNT to explode. Location Address: PRIVATE PROPERTY, Staten Island, New York Constructed in 1885, the Kreischer Mansion in Staten Island, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a man named Edward Kreischer, who committed suicide in June of 1894. In 2005 a man named Robert McKelvey was stabbed multiple times and then drowned in a small pool at the house. His apparition is said to haunt the property along with the spirit of an unknown woman, who many suspect was a former resident. The Kreischer Mansion is a PRIVATE RESIDENCE located on PRIVATE PROPERTY, and trespassers risk being arrested or prosecuted by law enforcement and/or property owners. #6 - Moravian Cemetery

Location Address: 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, New York Established in 1740, Moravian Cemetery is both the largest and oldest active cemetery in Staten Island. Visitors report witnessing the apparition of a young girl late at night, and the spirit of a man wearing a suit, as well as other unidentified apparitions and shadow figures. Others report experiencing paranormal activity such as glowing orbs, cold spots, disembodied voices, and the sounds of a baby crying. Although many have reported encountering spirits at Moravian Cemetery, the reason for their presence is unknown. #7 - Old Seaview Hospital

Many of the old buildings are said to be haunted by the spirits of past residents who died of illness or from other natural causes. The Guyon Lake Tyson House was built in 1740, and is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman named Elizabeth Lake Tyson, as well a number of her young children who all passed away before reaching adulthood. Tourists visiting the Guyon Lake Tyson House report witnessing apparitions, as well as hearing disembodied voices, footsteps, and other strange sounds. In some cases, trigger objects such as toys and candy are seen being moved and played with by the spirit of a young child. It is said to be haunted by the spirits of several Revolutionary War-era soldiers, as well as the spirit of a servant woman who was killed after it was discovered that she was spying for the American army. Visitors at the location report witnessing apparitions, as well as hearing the sounds of disembodied screams and thuds late at night. The Conference House & Museum was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. #10 - The Historic Old Bermuda Inn

Location Address: 2512 Arthur Kill Road, Staten Island, New York Constructed in 1832 by the Mesereau family, The Historic Old Bermuda Inn in Staten Island, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman named Martha Mesereau. According to legend, Mrs. Mesereau passed away in the house in 1860 shortly after discovering that her husband, Mr. William Mesereau had been killed in battle while fighting in the American Civil War. Her spirit is often seen by guests throughout the inn, especially on the second floor in the bedroom where she died. Workers performing renovations on the inn also report hearing strange sounds coming from vacant areas, as well as feeling the presence of an unseen entity. #11 - Old St. Augustine Monastery
Location Address: Unknown Location, Staten Island, New York
Constructed in 1899 as a training academy for nuns and priests, St. Augustine Monastery in Staten Island, New York was closed in 1983 and demolished in 2005. According to legend, a monk who was accused of murdering several other members of the monastery is said to haunt the property where the building once stood, along with the spirits of his victims. Investigators at Saint Augustine before its demolition have reported witnessing apparitions, and hearing disembodied voices, footsteps, and other strange sounds, especially in the lower levels of the Monastery where former monks were housed. The location is sometimes simply referred to as "The Monastery," and is rumored by many to be used by a group of satanic cultists to perform dark magic and other rituals. #12 - Wagner College

Students report witnessing the man's apparition at night, as well as hearing the disembodied sounds of a woman's voice. #13 - Wolfe's Pond Park

Location Address: 5700, 420 Cornelia Ave, Staten Island, New York Wolfe's Pond Park is one of the largest parks in Staten Island, and is said to be haunted by the spirits of two young men who were killed in a car accident. #1 - Front Street Park

Location Address: Front Street, Schenectady, New York Front Street Park in Schenectady, New York is said to be haunted by the spirits of former British settlers who were killed by French and Native American soldiers during the Schenectady Massacre. On February 8, 1690 a party of over 200 French and Mohawk Indian forces attacked the village of Schenectady, killing nearly half of its population and destroying most of the houses and other buildings there. Locals walking in the park at night often report witnessing apparitions wearing clothing from the late 1600's, as well as hearing disembodied voices, moans, and gunshots. Others report feeling sudden cold spots or drops in temperature, as well as feelings of being watched by an unseen entity. #2 - Historic Vale Cemetery

Location Address: 907 State Street, Schenectady, New York Established in 1857, the Historic Vale Cemetery in Schenectady, New York spans over 100 acres and contains over 33,000 burial plots. Visitors at the cemetery report witnessing apparitions and shadow figures, while also hearing the sounds of disembodied voices and whispers. Paranormal investigators who enter the cemetery late at night often report witnessing strange glowing orbs and flashing lights, as well as hearing the sounds of a choir singing in the empty church nearby. #3 - Mad Jack Brewing Co. at The Van Dyck Lounge

Location Address: 237 Union Street, Schenectady, New York The Van Dyck Lounge in Schenectady, New York was constructed in 1947 as a jazz lounge, and according to local historians was also the site of an old brothel during the 1800's. Its stage has hosted many famous jazz musicians over the years, including Roy Eldridge, Teddy Wilson, and Thelonious Monk. The location is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman who was killed in one of the stairwells, and whose apparition is often seen by guests and employees. Although her spirit has been reported by employees and guests numerous times over the years, the woman's identity is unknown. #4 - Union College
Coordinates: 42.819302°, -73.928981°
Location Address: 897 Union Street, Schenectady, New York Founded in 1795, Union College is a private liberal arts college in Schenectady, New York. The wooded area of campus known as Jackson's Garden is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman named Alice Van der Veer, who was allegedly burnt alive in 1672 after she was discovered having a romantic relationship with a young suitor, which her father had forbidden. Students near Jackson's Garden have reported encountering Alice Van der Veer's spirit late at night, allegedly still searching for her lost love. In May of 1946 an article about Alice Van der Veer was published in the New York Folklore Quarterly, titled "The Union College Ghost," and in October of 1957 the story was made internationally famous when Life magazine published a Halloween spread about the Union College haunting, called "By Moonlight Burned." #5 - Yates Magnet Elementary School

Location Address: 725 Salina Street, Schenectady, New York Students and employees at Yates Elementary School in Schenectady, New York report witnessing the apparitions of former students who passed away, and whose spirits allegedly wander the hallways at night. Although many believe the school to be haunted, very little additional information is available regarding this location.

#1 - Ft. Stanwix National Monument

Location Address: 100 N. James Street, Rome, New York Fort Stanwix in Rome, New York was constructed in 1758 by British troops, and was later captured by Colonial militia forces during the American Revolutionary War. Visitors report encountering apparitions and shadow figures dressed in British and Colonial military uniforms, as well as hearing the disembodied sounds of war drums and muskets being fired in the distance. Others report feeling cold spots, as well as experiencing other unexplained paranormal activity, such as lights flickering, and doors opening and closing by themselves. Security guards working at the fort have also reported experiencing motion sensor alarms being triggered late at night when the location is empty, as well as capturing strange disembodied sounds. #2 - Rome Capitol Theater

Location Address: 220 W. Dominick Street, Rome, New York Employees at Rome Capitol Theater in Rome, New York report witnessing apparitions, as well as experiencing a variety of paranormal phenomena, such as doors opening and closing by themselves, disembodied voices, and the unexplained sounds of an organ being played late at night. Employees also report hearing the disembodied sounds of a performance being held when the building is otherwise empty. The Rome Capitol Theater originally opened in December of 1928 as a movie house. #3 - Rome Catholic School

Location Address: 400 Floyd Ave, Rome, New York Established in 1963, Rome Catholic School is a private Catholic elementary school in Rome, New York. The location is rumored to be haunted by the spirit of a former nun, whose apparition is allegedly seen by students and employees.

Location Address: 1200 Kings Highway N., Rochester, New York Spanning over 975 acres, Durand Eastman Park in Rochester, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman in white, whose apparition is seen wandering different trails and roadways late at night. Known by some as "The White Lady," the woman's restless spirit allegedly roams the park searching for her lost daughter who was murdered. #2 - George Eastman House Museum

Location Address: 900 East Ave, Rochester, New York The George Eastman Estate in Rochester, New York was constructed in 1905 by the philanthropist and founder of the Eastman Kodak Company, George Eastman, who committed suicide in 1932. Guests at the museum often report witnessing a male apparition, believed to be the late Mr. Eastman. Others report experiencing other unexplained paranormal phenomena, such as cold spots, and feeling the presence of an unseen entity. In 1949 the George Eastman Estate was reopened as the George Eastman Museum, and in 1966 was added to the National Register of Historic Places. #3 - Holy Sepulchre Cemetery

Location Address: 2461 Lake Ave, Rochester, New York Established in 1871, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery is a 332 acre Catholic Cemetery located in Rochester, New York with over 100,000 burial plots. It is also the final resting place of a man named Francis Tumblety, who was suspected by some of being Jack The Ripper. Visitors at this location report witnessing unidentified shadow figures and apparitions, especially in the children's section. Other visitors report feeling sudden cold spots or drops in temperature, as well as feeling the presence of an unseen entity. #4 - Rochester Broadway Theatre League's Auditorium Theater

Location Address: 885 E. Main Street, Rochester, New York Constructed in 1928 as a Masonic Temple, the Rochester Broadway Theatre League's Auditorium Theater is said to be haunted by the spirit of an elderly man whose apparition is often seen by actors and actresses backstage, as well as the spirit of another man seen wearing a red coat. The Auditorium Theater is said to be one of the most haunted locations in Rochester, with actors reporting the sounds of disembodied voices and footsteps during rehearsals, as well as witnessing objects being moved by an unseen entity, and feelings of being watched. #5 - Rochester Main Street Armory

Location Address: 900 E. Main Street, Rochester, New York The Rochester Main Street Armory in Rochester, New York was constructed in 1905 by the United States Army to train and process new soldiers. The facility remained open until 1990, and was later reopened as a venue hosting live music, sporting events, and other live performances. Guests attending concerts and other live events often report witnessing unidentified apparitions and shadow figures, as well as experiencing other paranormal phenomena, such as cold spots and objects moving by themselves. During it's years as a military facility many fatal training accidents are said to have occurred at the Main Street Armory, which many claim is why the location is haunted. #6 - Rochester Psychiatric Center

Location Address: 1111 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York The Rochester Psychiatric Center in Rochester, New York was constructed in 1857 as the Monroe County Insane Asylum, with many of the old buildings on campus still remaining abandoned. The location is said to be haunted by the spirits of former mental patients who were abused and neglected by caretakers, as well as subjected to experimental medical procedures, such as electroshock therapy or lobotomies. Employees at the hospital report witnessing the apparitions of former patients, as well as experiencing sudden cold spots, and feeling the presence of an unseen entity. Urban explorers investigating the abandoned buildings also report experiencing issues with electrical items, as well as hearing the disembodied sounds of voices, footsteps, and moans. The remaining buildings at the Rochester Psychiatric Center are also said to be hazardous due to poisonous airborne materials such as asbestos which can be inhaled simply by breathing, and cause fatal cancer, or other immediate symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and loss of consciousness. #7 - Rochester Public Library

Location Address: 115 South Ave, Rochester, New York The Rochester Public Library in Rochester, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman who allegedly drowned in a nearby aqueduct. According to legend, her body was swept downstream until it became stuck in a tunnel underneath the library. Guests at the library report witnessing an unidentified female apparition, whose spirit is seen wandering the hallways aimlessly. Another spirit said to haunt the Rochester Public Library is that of a former librarian named Frank, who died of a heart attack, and whose apparition is said to haunt the location of his death. Security guards also report capturing strange paranormal activity on security cameras, such as doors opening and closing by themselves, and strange disembodied noises late at night when the building is empty. #8 - The Aquinas Institute of Rochester

Location Address: 1127 Dewey Ave, Rochester, New York Established in 1902 as an all-male Catholic High School, The Aquinas Institute of Rochester, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman named Victoria, who was killed in a car accident on the opening night of the school musical. Since her death, the young woman's apparition is often seen by students in the school's auditorium during rehearsals and performances. Students and faculty members also report witnessing strange paranormal activity, such as doors and windows opening and closing by themselves, as well as hearing the sounds of disembodied voices and footsteps. #9 - University of Rochester

Location Address: Intercampus Drive, Rochester, New York Students at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York report witnessing the spirit of a former worker named Peter Nicosia, who fell to his death while constructing the Rush Reese Library tower in 1929. Students and faculty at the university often report encountering Mr. Nicosia's ghost, who allegedly speaks and interacts with students before mysteriously vanishing. On several occasions during the 1930's, students studying at the library reported encountering the spirit of a man who matched Mr. Nicosia's description, who claimed that the school still owed him money for construction work he had done. On another occasion, the man allegedly asked two students if they knew how tall the Rush Reese Library tower was, before giving a whistle, and then vanishing. After months of alleged sightings, one student who encountered Mr. Nicosia's ghost asked if he knew a man named Peter Nicosia. The spirit allegedly replied, "shoot, that's me," before once again vanishing.
