Lizzie Borden House Bed & Breakfast Museum
Coordinates: 41.698928°, -71.156196°
Location Address: 230 2nd Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02721
On August 4, 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were found dead in their Fall River, Massachusetts house, leading to what later became one of the most infamous unsolved murder cases in American history. According to police reports, Andrew Borden was found dead in the downstairs sitting room after receiving eleven blows to the head with a sharp hatchet, and Mrs. Borden was found upstairs lying face down in a pool of blood. She was killed instantly after being hit in the head from the front with an ax and fell to the floor, at which point she was struck in the back of the head an additional seventeen times. Their daughter, Lizzie Borden, was put to trial for the two murders but was eventually acquitted on all charges. Despite popular misconceptions, Lizzie Borden was not immediately seen as a suspect in the murders, but she became a person of interest after giving several false and conflicting statements to the police. The Borden House was sold to a different owner after the murders, and eventually in 1996 the location was bought and opened as a tourist attraction called the Lizzie Borden House Bed & Breakfast. Guests staying at the Lizzie Borden House Bed & Breakfast often report encountering the spirit of an older man and woman, believed to be Mr. and Mrs. Borden. Others report hearing the disembodied sounds of a woman crying, as well as witnessing lights flickering, and electronic equipment being turned on and off by an unseen entity. Employees also report feeling a strange presence in the house, as well as experiencing sudden unexplained chills and cold spots.
Oak Grove Cemetery
Coordinates: 41.706377°, -71.136796°
Location Address: 765 Prospect Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02721
The historic Oak Grove Cemetery was established in 1855 as a burial ground for influential and upper-class citizens of Fall River and spans over 100 acres of land. The location is famously known for being the final resting place of Andrew and Abby Borden, who were found dead on August 4, 1892 after being brutally murdered with a hatchet. It is also the final resting place of their daughter, Lizzie Borden, who was accused of murdering Mr. and Mrs. Borden but was later found not guilty of the murders. The old cemetery is said to be haunted by the three members of the Borden family, whose restless spirits are allegedly seen by visitors. Paranormal investigators report witnessing strange glowing orbs just past the cemetery gates at night, as well as hearing the sounds of disembodied moans and cries. Others who visit the cemetery report feeling the presence of an unseen entity, as well as a dark energy that permeates the surrounding area. Oak Grove Cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in February of 1983.

News & Updates
First off, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone reading this email, and everyone who takes the time to share my posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! As you know, I do all of the writing, research, web development, video editing, and content creation for GhostQuest.net myself, and I appreciate your support so much!! So what's new at GhostQuest.net this month? More work is underway on the Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: California, which now has dozens of new entries!! You can check out all my writing for free at GhostQuest.net my clicking on link Here, or the map below.
This writing will later be published into a book by the same name, so keep an eye out for that if you love to read!! I also have three other books currently available on Amazon in eBook and Paperback; The Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: Massachusetts, The Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: Michigan, and The Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: New York. You can also get FREE copies of my eBooks and free signed copies of my upcoming paperbacks by following me on Patreon.
Going forward over the next few months though, California will be taking a quick backseat while I revisit some of the older pages on GhostQuest.net that are in need of an update. If you were to look through each Haunted State Page on GhostQuest.net, you'd notice some pages are nothing more than a bulleted list. Other pages though, you'll see have a lot of historic details and information, so in order to provide an overall more consistent user experience for GhostQuest.net users, I'll be doing some updates to those pages that need it the most (like Wisconsin)!! I'll be giving all 50 State Pages some amount of attention over the coming months, and can't say for certain how long the whole process will take... but last time I tried to give estimates about this year's big SEO update, the project turned out to be a lot more in depth than I had thought, and I ended up having to push it back several times. So this time I won't be giving any estimates until work is closer to being complete, but I will continue doing updates here in the Monthly Newsletter, and on my Blog!! So if you're from one of those states that's mostly blank, keep checking back over the next month to see if I've added anything to your state!! And if you know of any locations I might have missed in my Haunted Database, be sure to let me know by leaving a comment here and I'll add it to my list!!
And be sure to check out my most recent YouTube Video about the Top 3 Most Haunted Places in Fairhaven, Massachusetts!!
I also record new episodes for my YouTube Channel and post new blogs early for all my $1+ Patreon Subscribers to enjoy before everyone else!! My next video about the Top 2 Most Haunted Places in Fall River, Massachusetts is already up, and I can't wait for you guys to see it!
