Visitors at the old cemetery often report witnessing the young girl's apparition sitting in a large marble rocking chair, which marks her final resting place. One popular folklore story claims that the rocking chair glows at night when the young girl's spirit is present, however many debate whether or not this phenomenon is paranormal. Sometimes also referred to simply as "Mayflower Cemetery."

#3

Paul A. Dever State School For The Mentally Disabled

"Paul A. Dever State School"

Coordinates: 41.944025°, -71.121316°
Location Address: Bassett Street, Taunton, Massachusetts
The Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton, Massachusetts was constructed in 1942 as Ft. Myles Standish, where countless American troops were held for processing before being deployed to fight during World War II. The fortress was also used as a prisoner-of-war camp, and in 1952 was reestablished as a school for students with learning disabilities called "The Myles Standish School For The Mentally Disabled," which later became The Paul A. Dever State School. In 2002, the Paul A. Dever State School was left abandoned, at which point rumors began to circulate that the location was haunted. Although the school was demolished in 2016, many locals report witnessing mysterious glowing orbs and hearing the sounds of disembodied voices where the old dormitories and other buildings once stood, and others report witnessing the apparition of a teenage boy who disappears when approached by the living. Sometimes also referred to as "The Myles Standish State School," or "Myles Standish School For The Mentally Disabled."

#4

Taunton State Mental Hospital

"The Massachusetts State Lunatic Hospital At Taunton"

Coordinates: 41.912398°, -71.100984°
Location Address: Hodges Avenue, Taunton, Massachusetts

Although much of the old hospital was either destroyed by fire or demolished, several buildings are still in use by various psychiatric facilities, and many others remain abandoned. Urban explorers visiting the old hospital at night report witnessing mysterious, shadowy figures, as well as the apparitions of former patients and medical staff members. Others report hearing the sounds of disembodied voices, footsteps, and screams coming from empty buildings or the surrounding woods, and those who enter the old hospital's abandoned buildings at night report feeling a dark, evil presence. Sometimes also referred to as "Taunton State Lunatic Hospital," "Taunton State Asylum," or "Taunton State Hospital."
