Constructed during the late 1800's as a tavern and brothel, The Old Baraboo Inn in Baraboo, Wisconsin was constructed in 1854 as a boarding house, and was later used as a tavern and brothel during the late 1800's, and a speakeasy during the American Alcohol Prohibition. It is documented that three prostitutes and two former owners with connections to the Chicago mafia were killed in the building, and their ghosts are allegedly seen by guests and employees. The man is said to have been killed one day while on the way to meet his lover, who stood waiting until discovering the man had died. Some say she died shortly after of a broken heart.
