#1 - Anvil Inn Restaurant

Location Address:  67 Broadway, Ft. Edward, New York
Constructed in the 1840's as a blacksmith shop, the Anvil Inn Restaurant in Ft. Edward, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman whose apparition is allegedly seen by patrons at the bar. Guests report experiencing strange paranormal phenomena, such as cold spots, doors opening and closing by themselves, and objects such as plates and bottles being dropped to the floor by an unseen entity. Employees also report experiencing lights and other electronic devices turning on and off by themselves.


#2 - Beardslee Castle

Location Address:  123 Old State Road, Little Falls, New York
Constructed in 1860 by a man named Augustus Beardslee, Beardslee Castle in Little Falls, New York was reconstructed twice after being burned down in a fire; once in 1919 and once again in 1989. The castle was purchased in 1994 and renovated for use as a restaurant and banquet hall. It is said to be haunted by the spirits of former members of the Beardslee family, and guests frequently report witnessing apparitions and hearing the sounds of disembodied voices and footsteps. The first claims of paranormal activity in the old castle were reported in 1983 after a group of paranormal investigators were brought in to investigate. Beardslee Castle currently embrace its haunted reputation, and often host ghost hunts and other events.


#3 - Belhurst Castle & Winery

Location Address:  4069 W. Lake Road, Geneva, New York
Constructed in 1889 as a private residence, Belhurst Castle in Geneva, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman in white, whose apparition is allegedly seen by employees and guests. The woman is believed to be the spirit of an opera singer named Isabella who was killed when part of the castle collapsed, however this theory is unable to be officially confirmed. Motorists driving by Belhurst Castle have reported witnessing the same woman in white walking in the yard at night, or glimpsing her silhouette in one of the upstairs windows when the location is vacant. Employees working at the bar have also reported experiencing strange paranormal activity, such as cold spots, or objects being thrown across the room by an unseen entity. A series of underground tunnels allegedly connecting different areas of the castle are also said to be haunted.


#4 - Country House Restaurant

Coordinates:  40.912659°, -73.142174°
Location Address:  ​​​1175 N. Country Road, Stony Brook, New York
Constructed in 1710 as a private residence, the Country House Restaurant in Stony Brook, New York was used during the American Revolutionary War to house British soldiers. It is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman named Annette Williamson, who was hanged from the rafters after she was accused by a group of locals of being a spy. Annette's ghost is often seen in the kitchen, dining room, and restrooms, and employees and guests often report hearing disembodied voices, and the sounds of a woman crying.


#5 - Demarest Hill Winery

Coordinates:  41.261857°, -74.372655°
Location Address:  81 Pine Island Turnpike, Warwick, New York
Demarest Hill Winery in Warwick, New York was constructed in 1863 as The National Hotel, and was later used as a brothel before being converted into apartments, and then a winery. Employees and visitors report hearing disembodied footsteps and the sounds of screams coming from the top floor of the building late at night. Although many claim the Demarest Hill Winery is haunted, the reasons for its paranormal activity are unknown.


#6 - Fiorello Dolce Bakery

Location Address:  57 Wall Street, Huntington, New York
Originally used as housing for Huntington's homeless population during the early 1900's, Fiorello Dolce Bakery in Huntington, New York is said to be haunted by the spirits of former residents who passed away. A medium who was asked to investigate the bakery claims that there are thirteen different spirits residing at the location. Employees report witnessing orbs and apparitions, as well as experiencing a variety of other paranormal activity, such as electronic devices malfunctioning, doors opening and closing by themselves, and objects such as dishes or utensils being moved by an unseen entity. On several occasions, the bakery's owner has reported capturing strange orbs on security cameras late at night.


​#7 - Mad Jack Brewing Co. at The Van Dyck Lounge

Coordinates:  42.816536°, -73.943146°
Location Address:  237 Union Street, Schenectady, New York
The Van Dyck Lounge in Schenectady, New York was constructed in 1947 as a jazz lounge, and according to local historians was also the site of an old brothel during the 1800's. Its stage has hosted many famous jazz musicians over the years, including Roy Eldridge, Teddy Wilson, and Thelonious Monk. The location is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman who was killed in one of the stairwells, and whose apparition is often seen by guests and employees.


#8 - Mr. Dominic's On Main Italian Restaurant

Location Address:  1 E. Church Street, Fairport, New York
​Constructed in 1876 as the Henry DeLand House, Mr. Dominic's On Main in Fairport, New York was known as the Green Lantern Inn from 1925 until the early 2000's, when it was renovated for use as an Italian restaurant. The building is said to be haunted by the spirit of its original owner, Henry DeLand, whose apparition is often seen by employees and patrons. Many guests also report experiencing strange paranormal activity, such as sudden cold spots and drops in temperature, as well as feeling the presence of an unseen entity.


#9 - One If By Land, Two If By Sea Restaurant

Location Address:  17 Barrow Street, New York City, New York
Constructed in 1767 as a carriage house, the One If By Land, Two If By Sea Restaurant in New York City is said to be haunted by the spirit of a man named Aaron Burr and his young daughter Theodosia, who were allegedly kidnapped and murdered by pirates. Patrons report witnessing their apparitions, as well as encountering the spirit of an unknown woman in a black dress. Others report experiencing paranormal activity such as cold spots, lights flickering, and objects such as plates and dishes being moved by an unseen entity. Several staff members working at the restaurant have allegedly quit over the years due to their paranormal experiences.


#10 - Orchard Hall Restaurant

Coordinates:  43.005413°, -75.261238°
Location Address:  2955 Oneida Street, Sauquoit, New York
​Constructed in the early-1840's, the Orchard Hall Restaurant in Sauquoit, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman named Julia, who passed away in an apartment upstairs. Julia's spectral figure is often seen by employees and guests, and there are many different stories which attempt to explain her origin. In some stories, Julia was shot to death at the bar and moved upstairs where she later succumbed to her wounds, and in others she passed away tragically during childbirth. In the years since her death, guests at Orchard Hall Restaurant have reported witnessing a mysterious female spirit believed to be Julia. The location was also rumored to have been used as part of the Underground Railroad during the American Civil War.


#11 - Pizza Hut

Location Address:  2082 Middle Country Road, Centereach, New York
Formerly a Jack in the Box restaurant, the Pizza Hut on Middle County Road in Centereach, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a former employee who committed suicide in the bathroom. Employees report feeling cold spots, and witnessing objects like pots and pans being moved or thrown to the floor by an unseen entity. Despite these claims, very little evidence is currently available to support these claims.


#12 - Professor Java's Coffee Sanctuary

Coordinates:  42.725193°,  -73.797531°
Location Address:  217 Wolf Road, Albany, New York
​Professor Java's Coffee Sanctuary on Wolf Road in Albany, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a middle-aged man wearing a suit, whose apparition is most often seen at times when few customers are present. The apparition of a woman is also allegedly seen reflected in mirrors and windows. Although many witnesses report encountering these mysterious apparitions, the reason for their presence is unknown.


​#13 - Randy's Up the River Bar & Restaurant

Coordinates:  42.089893°,  -78.502674°
Location Address:  3767 9 Mile Road, Allegany, New York
Allegedly used as a speakeasy during the American Alcohol Prohibition, Randy's Up the River in Allegany, New York was constructed in 1869 as a hotel and stagecoach stop. Patrons often report witnessing the apparition of a man wearing blue jeans and a plaid shirt, as well as experiencing other paranormal activity such as disembodied voices, footsteps, and objects moving by themselves. Staff members in the kitchen report hearing a disembodied man's voice whispering their names when the area is otherwise empty, while others report feeling the presence of an unseen entity.


#14 - Spanky's Diner

Location Address:  3 N. Main Street, Massena, New York
Spanky's Diner in Massena, New York was opened in 1956, and still contains much of its original fixtures and furniture. Employees report witnessing orbs, as well as the apparition of a young girl who drowned nearby, and other spirits whose identities remain unknown. The diner sits in very close proximity to Pine Grove Cemetery, which is also said to be haunted, and the land directly behind the diner was once the site of one of Massena's oldest hospitals, which many believe may be the source of some of the paranormal activity at this location. Patrons at Spanky's Diner report experiencing sudden cold spots and other unexplained paranormal phenomena, such as disembodied voices, lights flickering, and electronic equipment malfunctioning. Others report feeling a strange presence, as if being watched by an unseen entity.


#15 - The Winery at Marjim Manor

Coordinates:  43.348262°, -78.639135°
Location Address:  7171 Lake Road, Appleton, New York
Constructed in 1854 by a man named Schubal Scudder Merritt, the Marjim Manor in Appleton, New York is said to be haunted by the spirits of several former members of the Merritt family, whose apparitions are often seen by employees and guests. Many customers report encountering the apparition of a young boy named Lewis Merritt, who was accidentally shot and killed by his father, Schubal. Employees working at Marjim Manor at night when the building is empty also report hearing the sounds of disembodied footsteps and voices, as well as encountering other unidentified apparitions wearing 1800's-era clothing.


#16 - Wayside Irish Pub

Location Address:  101 W. Main Street, Elbridge, New York
Constructed in the early 1800's as a private home, the Wayside Irish Pub ​in Elbridge, New York is said to be haunted by the spirit of a former resident, nicknamed George, who died of a heart attack. Employees and gusts dating back to the 1960's have also reported encountering the spirit of a young woman named Sara, who committed suicide on the 3rd floor, as well as witnessing the apparition of a former Revolutionary War soldier. Patrons over the years have also reported experiencing a variety of strange poltergeist activity, such as objects moving by themselves, and glasses being thrown across the room by an unseen entity.
