Highfield Hall & Gardens
Coordinates: 41.557305°, -70.629143°
Location Address: 56 Highfield Drive, Falmouth, Massachusetts, 02540
Highfield Hall & Gardens in Falmouth, Massachusetts was constructed in 1878 as the Beebe family mansion. The mansion was abandoned sometime during the late 1900's and fell into a state of disrepair, but was purchased by the town of Falmouth in 2001 and restored for use as a museum, art exhibit, and music venue. The location is said to be haunted by the spirit of the mansion's former owner, Mary Louisa Beebe, who died of stomach cancer on the 2nd Floor in November of 1883. Her apparition is often seen by guests visiting Highfield Hall, as well as by passersby, who report witnessing a woman's silhouette in the windows late at night when the building is believed to be empty. One popular urban legend claims that a group of people all committed suicide together at Highfield Hall, however no historical evidence is currently available to verify these claims
