Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia was established in 1842 as the Augusta Female Seminary. Students attending the university often report encountering the ghost of a man dressed in an old soldier's uniform in different locations throughout its 58-acre campus, nicknamed "Richard." Others report witnessing apparitions and experiencing other unexplained paranormal phenomena in the Fletcher Collins Theatre, McClung Hall, and the King Building. The Lofts At The Villages Of Staunton
"Old Western State Lunatic Asylum"

The old Western State Hospital in Staunton, Virginia was constructed in 1828 as the Western State Lunatic Asylum. The asylum closed in the 1970's, at which point the building was converted into a medium security prison for men. It was abandoned again in 2003, and reopened in 2008 as an apartment complex called The Lofts At The Villages Of Staunton. Throughout the years, many have reported witnessing apparitions and experiencing unexplained paranormal activity at the old hospital.
