Fred Meijer Nature Preserve

Also known as Fred Meijer Nature Preserve, the Pickerel Lake Park in Rockford, Michigan is an 80-acre nature area with hiking trails and a lake for swimming. It is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young boy who drowned in Pickerel Lake while attending summer camp at Camp Roger, which is located on the park's north side. Despite many who dismiss these claims as nothing more than urban legends, those hiking on the park's north side often report encountering the spirit of a young boy, who allegedly taunts visitors or threatens to push them into the lake before mysteriously vanishing.

The Rockford Dam in Rockford, Michigan was constructed in 1844 and is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young boy who drowned in the river below. Although his identity is unknown many visitors to the Rockford Dam Overlook report encountering the young boy's ghost, as well as experiencing a variety of other unexplained paranormal phenomena, such as feeling a strange presence, or being pushed by an unseen entity.

White Pine Trail in Rockford is the site of a former railway that once ran from Walker, Michigan to Cadillac in the north. The location is said to be haunted by the spirits of two young girls who were hit by a train on a bridge near 10 Mile Road, and whose ghostly apparitions are allegedly seen by walkers at night. Many also report hearing the sounds of disembodied voices and giggling, or experiencing a strange, unsettling feeling, as if being followed by an unseen entity.
