"Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery"

Oak Grove Cemetery in Lexington, Virginia was established during the mid-1700's as the Lexington Presbyterian Cemetery. It was renamed to the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery in 1949 to commemorate a Confederate Army general, but the name was changed again in 2020 to Oak Grove Cemetery. The location is said to be haunted by the ghosts of a number of men and women, including the late General Stonewall Jackson, and several other fallen soldiers who were killed during the American Civil War. Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia was founded in 1839 as a military college for senior officers. It is said to be haunted by a number of spirits, including one ghost known as "The Yellow Peril," who is allegedly seen and heard shrieking and moaning at night. Many also report hearing similar disembodied sounds emanating from the "Virginian Mourning Her Dead" statue outside, or witnessing a strange blue orb which appears to float through the hallways.
