Bill Witt City Park in Corpus Christi, Texas is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a man who committed suicide by hanging inside an old airplane hangar that once stood there. Although the hangar was demolished in 2008, park visitors still report witnessing the man's apparition, and experiencing other unexplained paranormal phenomena, such as disembodied voices and footsteps. Commissioned in 1943, the USS Lexington is an Essex-class aircraft carrier which now serves as a museum and tourist attraction. It served in almost every naval conflict during World War II, and is said to be haunted by the ghosts of nine former sailors who were killed when the ship was struck by a torpedo in December of 1943, as well as a number of other unidentified men. Employees and guests onboard the USS Lexington report witnessing apparitions and shadow figures, and hearing the disembodied sounds of men's voices, shouting, and explosions in the distance, as if a battle is being fought. The USS Lexington is famous for being one of the most notoriously haunted locations in the state of Texas.
