The Brownsville Historic Battlefield Trail in Brownsville, Texas begins at the Mitte Cultural District, and stretches for over ten miles north to the Palo Alto Battlefield. On a number of occasions, people walking the trail at night have reported encountering several small, humanoid creatures of unknown origin. Camp Rio At Lula Sams
"Camp RIO"

Camp RIO in Brownsville, Texas was established in the 1950's as an all-girls summer camp called Camp Lula Sams, which closed in the early 1990's. According to legend, the camp was abandoned after twelve girl scouts were allegedly stabbed to death by a counselor in the woods. Despite many who regard these claims as nothing more than urban legends, campers often report hearing the sounds of the young girls' screams late at night, or experiencing other unexplained paranormal phenomena. Many witnesses have even reported swerving off the road to avoid a collision with the phantom cow, only to find that it has mysteriously vanished. "Rivera Early College High School"

Sometimes referred to as Rivera Early College High School, the Simon Rivera High School in Brownsville, Texas was constructed in 1988. It is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a male student who died of a heart attack in the gymnasium after a basketball game, who is allegedly seen and heard playing basketball by custodians working late at night. The girls' locker room is also rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a female student who was murdered in the showers, where students report hearing the sounds of disembodied voices and screams. Formerly known as the University Of Texas At Brownsville, the University Of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Brownsville, Texas was established in 2015. Many of the old buildings on campus are located on land which was once used as part of nearby Ft. Brown, which was constructed during the 1840's as the state's first military outpost. Students and faculty members often report witnessing apparitions dressed in Victorian-era clothing, as well as men dressed in old military uniforms.
