The Banning House Lodge is a large vacation lodge that sits overlooking Isthmus Cove and Catalina Harbor in the town of Avalon, California. It was constructed as a summer home by the Banning brothers in 1910 when the surrounding area was still being developed as a tourist destination. Guests staying at the Banning House Lodge claim it is haunted by several unidentified spirits, including that of a mysterious woman known only as "The Lady In White." Another spirit said to haunt the location is that of a fisherman, whose apparition is often accompanied by the scent of tobacco smoke and freshly caught seafood. Additionally, many guests over the years have reported encountering the ghost of the late actress Natalie Wood, who drowned in the harbor nearby in November of 1981 at the age of 43.

Catalina Country Club

The Catalina Country Club was constructed in the early 1900's by William Wrigley as a baseball training resort for the Chicago Cubs, who traveled to the location for training every spring until 1951. It sits overlooking the town of Avalon and the vast Pacific Ocean which lies just beyond, and now serves as a country club and venue for weddings and other functions. Many claim the Catalina Country club is haunted by the spirit of a man believed to be a former baseball player, who is allegedly seen near the area of the building which once housed the team's locker rooms. Some sources also report that the location is haunted by an evil, shadowy entity who is said to interact primarily with young children, however very few firsthand encounters are currently available to validate these claims.

The Glenmore Plaza Hotel in Avalon was constructed in 1891. It is locally famous for being one of the oldest continually operating hotels in the state of California, and over the years has hosted a number of celebrity guests such as Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable, and Amelia Earhart. Many guests staying at the location report witnessing apparitions and shadow figures, and experiencing other unexplained paranormal activity, such as strange noises coming from unoccupied rooms, or feeling a strange presence. On several occasions guests have even reported being woken in the night by a ghostly figure, or waking to a shadowy silhouette hovering by the bedside.

The Zane Grey Pueblo Hotel in Avalon, California was constructed in 1926 as a private residence by the American author, Zane Grey, who published over 90 novels about the Old West during his lifetime. Many of his novels such as The Lone Star Ranger, White Death, and Riders Of The Purple Sage were later adapted for use in Hollywood films and television, and Zane Grey quickly became famous as one of America's first millionaire authors. After his death in 1939, the luxurious home was converted into a 16-room luxury hotel called the Zane Grey Pueblo Hotel, which sits overlooking Avalon Bay to the east. The hotel was closed briefly between 2011 and 2019, and is rumored by many to be haunted. Employees and guests at the location often report witnessing apparitions and shadowy figures reflected in windows and mirrors, and feeling sudden cold spots. Others report feeling a mysterious presence, or hearing the sounds of disembodied footsteps late at night.
