Arlington Music Hall in Arlington, Texas first opened in 1950. It is said to be haunted by the ghost of a man, nicknamed "Fred," whose apparition is allegedly seen and heard by employees. Crystal Canyon Natural Area in Arlington, Texas is rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of a group of former soldiers of the Republic Of Texas. The soldiers were part of a group charged with intercepting wagons crossing the border into Texas from Mexico, called "The Battalion Of Invincibles." After intercepting a large shipment of Mexican gold, the Battalion Of Invincibles were ordered to disband and surrender the shipment to the United States government. According to legend, the men instead buried the treasure in Crystal Canyon before being killed by United States Army soldiers. Now, the ghosts of these former soldiers are said to haunt the location, guarding their hidden treasure from trespassers, though many historians note that the Battalion Of Invincibles disbanded peacefully in 1843. The Screaming Bridge is a small, abandoned bridge located on Greenbelt Road in Arlington, Texas. It is said to be haunted by the ghosts of three teenage girls who were killed in a car wreck in February of 1961, when their vehicle plunged from the bridge into the river below. Ever since, those visiting the remnants of the old bridge at night have reported hearing the sounds of disembodied screams, and the screeching of car brakes. The University Of Texas At Arlington in Arlington, Texas was established in 1895. In 1903, a shelter for homeless women called The Berachah Industrial Home For The Redemption Of Erring Girls was constructed at the location where Davis Hall now stands. The shelter eventually grew to include its own hospital, cemetery, and even a handkerchief factory. In 1935 it was repurposed for use as an orphanage, which was either abandoned in 1942, or destroyed in a fire. According to legend, the university is haunted by the ghosts of a number of former women who once lived and died at the old Berachah Industrial Home, as well as the ghosts of the orphaned children who allegedly died in a fire. Most famously, the Sigma Chi fraternity house is believed to be haunted by the ghost of a young girl named Mary, and many also report experiencing paranormal activity at the small cemetery that once belonged to the old Berachah Industrial Home, sometimes referred to as the "Arlington Infant Cemetery."
