Hey everyone! It's August already, which means it's already time for the next GhostQuest.net monthly newsletter! I don't know if it's just me, but wow is 2020 going by fast!! I hope you're all having a great Summer so far, despite everything going on in the world right now!!

For those of you who are just recently becoming part of the community - welcome aboard, and thank you for subscribing! I'm Brian Weaver and I run GhostQuest.net, one of the internet's largest online resources for paranormal researchers, investigators, and folklore enthusiasts. If you haven't received your FREE copy of my eBook, Top 5 American Monsters, you can click the link here to download it as a special Thank You just for signing up for my newsletter! For those of you reading this on my blog, sorry, this is for newsletter subscribers only!!!

News & Updates

First off, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone reading this newsletter, and everyone who takes the time to share my posts and send me messages on social media! As you know, I do all of the writing, research, web development, video editing, and content creation myself, and I appreciate your support so much!

As some of you may have noticed, things have been going a bit slower here at GhostQuest.net lately, and that's because unfortunately earlier this month I suffered an unexplained seizure and completely broke my right shoulder in several spots, which as you can imagine has been an incredibly painful injury. Due to the nature of the injury I had to undergo a full shoulder replacement surgery, which is still causing me a lot of pain, and is just the first step on a long, long road to recovery...

Despite all this, when I have the strength I've still been doing my best to post as much new content for you guys as possible!! But unfortunately since I'm right-handed, it's been slow going since I have to do everything with my left hand. I'm trying my best to stay positive, but honestly it's been a really hard month for me and my girlfriend, Kelli, who has had to do almost everything for me, from getting me dressed in the morning, to making lunch, cleaning up around the house, and so much more... all of this on top of working overnight shifts on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic as a nursing assistant. She doesn't read these newsletters, but I still feel the need to express my deep gratitude for all that she's done for me over the last month (and 5 years of our relationship).

I also can't even begin to express how thankful I am for my network of followers and friends who have reached out to ask how I'm doing. You guys are the best!!! If anyone reading this cares enough to help us out financially throughout all this, you can go to my Patreon page and make a pledge, and I'd really, really appreciate it!! Even just $1 a month helps out a ton with covering the costs of hosting GhostQuest.net, and even a one-time pledge makes a difference!

But anyway, let's move onto some positive news!

Over the last month, the GhostQuest.net Link Exchange has seen a huge overhaul, with over 30 new paranormal content creators being added to the exchange!! For those of you who don't know what the Link Exchange is, it's one of the biggest ways that GhostQuest.net gives back to the paranormal community by helping to promote other paranormal content creators, such as YouTubers, Bloggers, Authors, Investigators, and more!!

If you're a paranormal content creator and haven't checked out the Link Exchange yet, I highly recommend doing so!! Without going into too much boring detail, having other websites link back to your Webpage, Blog, or YouTube Channel helps your search rankings on Google, not to mention some of my followers might click the link too!! So what are you waiting for? Send me an email (ghostquest.usa@gmail.com) with the name of your Blog, Website, or YouTube Channel, the webpage URL you want me to link to, and the thumbnail you'd like me to use, and that's it, I'll do the rest!!

As many of you also know, back in June I published my first book, The Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: New York, which tells over 300 true ghost stories, urban legends, and folklore tales throughout the state of New York! As an indie author I was originally really disappointed when things fell through with my publisher, and I discovered I was going to have to self publish my new book without any help or guidance... but being able to make edits and other minor tweaks as new information becomes available is a huge bonus that I wouldn't have otherwise. Plus, knowing I did everything myself, from the research, to the cover art, is such an awesome feeling!!

If you want to receive a FREE copy of my new book in exchange for agreeing to leave me an honest review on Amazon, just reply to this email and say you want to get a free copy, and I'll send you one! You can also sign up to get free copies of all my upcoming books up to one month early by signing up for the GhostQuest.net Book Review Club!!! Who doesn't love a free book? As a newly beginning author, having reviews for my book is really important, so for those of you who have read my book and would be willing to leave me a review, I would really really appreciate it! And when you do, send me a link to the review or a screenshot, or let me know so I can give you a shoutout on social media! It really means a lot to me!!!!

I'll also be releasing my next book, The Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: Massachusetts sometime around the beginning of autumn if everything goes well! So if you want to get a free copy of that one, be sure to sign up for the GhostQuest.net Book Review Club!!! I promise you won't regret it!!

And don't forget, I've also been working on a Video Series on YouTube to go along with my new book, The Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: New York!! If you like my books, or my ghost stories, I know you'll love these spooky videos, narrated by me!! I try and release a new video every Saturday, but due to my recent injury it's been more like biweekly, or whenever I can manage to do one... things are getting back to normal, but slowly...

So here's my latest YouTube video for those who haven't checked it out yet about New York's Most Haunted Hotels & Inns, which may just be my best, spookiest video yet!
I've also begun recording episodes for my YouTube Channel a week early, which I post for all my $1 Patreon Subscribers to enjoy a full week before everyone else! If you haven't checked out my Patreon Page, I have a bunch of other cool stuff on there too, like blog posts, polls, and more! Once I hit 20 subscribers I'll begin doing monthly contests and giveaways where you can win cool stuff, like books, tee shirts, event tickets, and other cool merchandise! To those of you guys who do support me on Patreon (all 6 of you!!) I just want to say a special THANK YOU for helping out, especially in these trying times! I work really hard to put out the amount of content I do on GhostQuest.net and your contribution towards my hosting and production costs help me out SO MUCH!

Another exciting update I've made to GhostQuest.net is adding a "User Comments & Submissions" form for each of the locations listed on my Haunted City pages. This gives my readers a chance to leave comments and feedback, or submit their own personal stories and pictures!! Here's an example of what I mean as displayed on my Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: Detroit and my Folklore & Haunted Locations Guide: Mackinac Island pages! I'd love to hear some of your stories!

Well, that's it for the GhostQuest.net August, 2020 newsletter! Thank you all again so much for subscribing and supporting GhostQuest.net! Have a spooky August!

Thanks,
Brian,
