Location Address: N4175 Baycliff Drive, Big Bay, Michigan
Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, Michigan was established in 1934 to care for malnourished and neglected children during the Great Depression. By the early 1940's the number of starving and impoverished children were beginning to decline, and the camp began to refocus its efforts on caring for children afflicted with polio. During the 1950's the Bay Cliff Health Camp was again refocused to treat children with general physical ailments, and currently still provides therapy for a range of other physical and mental disabilities. The location is rumored to be haunted by the spirit of a former camper named Sam who allegedly committed suicide after being bullied by another camper, as well as several other unidentified specters and apparitions who are seen throughout the 170-acre camp and its surrounding woods. Many campers have also reported experiencing strange paranormal occurrences such as paintings and portraits being thrown from the walls unexpectedly, and other objects being moved or rearranged by an unseen entity.
